Renting is simple. Select the cell phone of your choice, enter your departure and return dates and your rental fee will be instantly calculated. You will receive a QR code together with your rental that you will need to activate. Australia requires that all cellular service is activated with a document pertaining to the actual user. When you return, please remove any apps or personal information or pass codes and, for USA customers, use the prepaid USPS return package and drop off the package at USPS. Canadian and other users will need to send back the rental at their own expense as we cannot provide prepaid shipping labels.

Feel free to log in with your Apple ID or create a new one. You can book hotels, check into your flight, use maps, check emails, and more with our phone rental. Please note that to download most apps and do install the eSIM, you will need to rent an iPhone 12 or above.

The rental comes with all necessary power supplies and adapters, a return package, instructions, and a convenient travel case.

When do I order?

You can order as far in advance as you like – even months prior to your departure. We will ship your rental at the appropriate date in order for you to receive it prior to your departure. Rentals are shipped ground or express service and will arrive 2 or more business days prior to your set departure date.

How do I use the service, example, to make calls and texts within Australia or to the US?

We provide dialing instructions. If you have any questions, please let us know, preferably prior to your depature.

What will this cost me?

Select the phone option of your choice, enter the dates of your departure and your arrival in order to calculate the rental costs. Taxes are applicable only if you are in California.

Can I download apps?

If you log on with your Apple ID, all of your apps will automatically load. You may prefer to create a new Apple ID just for the rental. Please make sure that the apps you want to download are compatible with the version of the phone you rent. Please make sure to delete your account before returning the phone – otherwise we will have all your contact information, photos, emails and other sensitive information.

What is the latest I can order a rental phone?

You can order up to one business day prior to your departure as long as you call in before to 1:30pm Pacific Time. Exceptions can be made on a limited basis, even if you are leaving early in the morning – we can

Does the cell phone come charged?
Yes it does, but it’s always best to test the battery and charge phone before your departure.
Can I charge this phone on my trip?

Yes, you will receive an international charger and an Australian plug adapter (which you can also use for other devices), so you can charge the phone in the U.S.  as well as in Australia.

How do I return the phone?

Round trip shipping is included in your shipping fee. You will be provided with a return package (Canadian rental customers click here)

What happens if I cancel?

If your rental has not shipped, you will be refunded 100% of the cost. If your rental has been sent out, you are responsible for a two week rental fee plus the shipping fee.

Are there any surcharges or hidden fees?

Absolutely not.

Does Cellular Abroad offer insurance against loss or damage?

Yes, rental insurance is available as an add-on once you add your item to the cart.
